Kenzie Elizabeth (b.2001) is a textile artist located in Chicago, IL with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fiber and Material Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She was surrounded by quilts growing up in northern Georgia, and was later exposed to street art upon moving to Chicago in 2020. Elizabeth works to combine elements of her opposite environments to reflect how we are influenced by our suroundings. She implements drawings, repeating shapes, paint drips, bold highlights, saturated colors, quilt block patterns, fabric piecing techniques, and hand stitching into her work. She primarily sources material from old clothing to touch on themes of outgrowing, repurposing, redefining, and personal identity.
